XPick Retail Case: Batch Picking in Retail

XPick Retail Case: Batch Picking in Retail

This project covers an 11,000 m² warehouse supporting distribution to 400 retail stores. Through NovaX automation solutions, the operation achieved 43% labor reduction and a 200% improvement in UPH, significantly enhancing both efficiency and accuracy.

Customer Challenges

  • Low picking efficiency due to traditional manual processes.
  • High labor dependency and cost, especially during peak distribution periods.
  • Frequent sorting errors, leading to delayed deliveries and increased rework.

NovaX Automation Solution

  • Efficiency: Deployed 20 P1 autonomous picking robots for batch picking and sorting to 400 stores, achieving a 43% labor reduction and significant error rate decrease.

Workflow Optimization:

  • All pallets are first positioned on the ground.
  • The WMS sends picking orders to WCS, which groups tasks and dispatches them to the P1 robots.
  • P1 robots move to assigned picking points, where operators pick and place items.
  • After completing a batch, robots automatically transport goods to the pallet area for store-specific sorting.
Results & Achievements
  • 200% improvement in UPH (Units Per Hour).
  • 43% labor reduction and lower operational errors.
  • Efficient store distribution to 400 outlets with optimized batch workflows.
